Peachtree Corners Town Center: A Splash Pad That Balances Budget and Beauty
As part of the Peachtree Corners Town Center—an ambitious development featuring restaurants, community gathering areas, a playground, and a central park—the client envisioned a splash pad that would serve as both a functional water play space and a dynamic visual feature. They wanted something more than the ordinary, but without the high costs often associated with complex show fountain systems.
The design challenge was clear: create a captivating splash pad experience that balanced visual impact with cost-efficiency.
The solution came in the form of a spiral layout, populated with jet cluster vertical nozzles. Instead of costly automation, we implemented a clever combination of manual and synchronized control. Each nozzle was manually adjusted to different heights using ball valves—an economical choice that introduced variation and rhythm without stretching the budget.
To tie it all together, a variable frequency drive was used to raise and lower the sprays in unison, giving the water movement a choreographed feel. Each nozzle was surrounded by an RGBW donut light, fully illuminating the spray columns and enhancing the sense of motion and atmosphere—especially after dark.
The result is a visually impressive splash pad that adds a touch of show fountain flair, while remaining well within budget. It met the client’s vision perfectly: dynamic, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed to complement the vibrant public space around it..
